Siddique, Daljit Kaur, Manjit Kaur, Satwant Kaur and Sohaj Kaur Director: Simranjit Singh Hundal Producer: Sukhbir Sandhar Music: Dr. Zeus, Tru Skool, Jawar Dildar and Laddi Gill Genre: Action – Romance Censor Details: U (Punjabi) – 131 Minutes Synopsis: Sanwal Gill (Sippy) and Waris Brar (Aman) are group leaders at a college, who have a love hate relationship inherited from their fathers. They aim to get along for the sake of the other students but that resolve is severely tested when a beautiful girl named Seerat (Isha) walks into their lives. Sanwal is immediately smitten and pursues Seerat. Meanwhile, she only has eyes for Waris and resolves to win his heart. Rival college leader Jolly wreaks revenge on Sanwal and Waris by inflaming tensions between them. Review: Before analysing the film, let me state one thing. Jatt Boys is a kind of a film that we haven’t seen in Punjabi Cinema for over 15-20 years. It’s an Action Packed film with a dose of Romance and Comedy into it. It brings back the memories of the kind of Cinema we used to witness in the 20th Century – Jatt v/s Jatt. Director Simranjit and Writer Kanwaljit have tried to do something new and fresh and they succeed in their attempt. The writing of Jatt Boys is a major highlight of the film. It engages the viewer after some 20 minutes and keeps you intact till the end. Dialogues also are well written and Bhalla again has a punch line for himself this time. A minor problem in the writing was Screenplay for around 6-8 minutes only when the story moves forward after 20 years. Leaving that aside it’s a well-written screenplay. Director Simranjit Hundal who makes his debut with this film has done a reasonably good job. He’s been successful in creating the right ambience required to make a film based on ‘Generation Rivalry’. He could have done an even better job here, had those 10 minutes, which I highlighted in the screenplay, been made better. But all together, a satisfied job done. Music has been composed by various composers and is all right. A track like Yaara Ve by Karamjit Anmol is the best of the lot. Putt Jattan De and garry Sandhu’s Kina Tenu Pyaar are some highlights from the album. Coming to the performance, Sippy Gill shows promise in his debut film and can do a better job in future if groomed well. Aman Dhaliwal showed promise in Ajj De Ranjhe and lives on that promise in this film. Isha Rikhi also makes her debut with this film and she does an average job. It was great to see the veterans like Guggu Gill and Om Puri come together and share screen space. They have done a great job as always and it was also great to see then kicking some butts while performing action. Jaswinder Bhalla has a small role but does an all right job here; Karamjit Anmol, Nisha Bano and Sardar Sohi have done a good job. Surprise package here was Prince KJ Singh who saved his best for the second half and was superb in the second half. Others like Mohd. Siddique, Razia Sukhbir and various others have done a good to all right job. Final Say: Jatt Boys Putt Jattan De is a brave and different attempt from what is currently being made in Punjabi Cinema. First half gathers strength for this film and second half builds momentum for the film. Overall, a decent film to watch. - See more at: http://punjabimania.com/movie-review-jatt-boys-putt-jattan-de-punjabi-movie/#sthash.UPyBW6tX.dpuf
